Pushing for at least 30% women as candidates by GE16 - Projek 30% Conference (23 November 2024) This conference was organised by EMPOWER together with civil society coalitions: Joint Action Group for Gender Equality (JAG), BERSIH, CSO Platform for Reform (CSOP4R) and, various NGOs and NGIs.
Projek30% is a campaign to drive all political parties to field at least 30% women candidates at all levels (State and Federal) by GE16.
We aim to: i) all political parties to field at least 30% women candidates at all levels, and ii) the government to amend related electoral laws - so that all political parties are mandated to field at least 30% women, with both prongs achieved by GE16.
This conference was partly supported by the The Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI).
This video was recorded on 23 November 2024 at Persatuan Alumni Universiti Malaya (PAUM).
